Fatal Overnight Hit-Run Crash: 22-Year-Old ID'd As Victim In Patchogue

One person was killed in an overnight hit-and-run Long Island crash.

The crash happened around 10:45 p.m. Monday, June 10, in  Patchogue.

According to Suffolk County Police, the victim was operating a 2008 Suzuki motorcycle and traveling eastbound on Main Street when a westbound car turned left in front of the motorcycle onto Rider Avenue, causing the collision.

The vehicle, described as an older, dark-colored sedan, fled southbound on Rider Avenue.

The operator of the Suzuki, Christopher Hlavaty, age 22, of East Patchogue, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
